Semakin banyak tindakan (aksi) untuk meraih kesuksesan dari sebuah impian maka semakin banyak pula sahabatku mengetahui faktor-faktor kesuksesan.

Bingkai impian yang sahabatku sudah buat, mari kita ibaratkan bagaikan sebuah pohon yang memiliki akar yang kokoh, cabang-cabang atau ranting-ranting yang menjulang kelangit dan daun-daun serta buah-buahan yang rindang dan ranum, yang mana pohon tersebut menyenangkan hati penanam-nanamnya. Dan biasanya menanam sebuah pohon, maka akan datang hama pohon yang bisa mengganggu bahkan merusak pohon itu.

Ibarat pohon yang memiliki akar yang kokoh yang berarti sahabatku harus memilki satu visi yang jelas, terarah dan terukur. Adapun cabang-cabang atau ranting-ranting yang menjulang kelangit, berarti tindakan sahabatku harus mencakup seluruh aspek kehidupan dengan lengkap. Selanjutnya daun-daun serta buah-buahan yang rindang dan ranum, berarti tindakan sahabatku harus memberikan manfaat bagi orang lain bukan mengambil manfaat. Tentu saja, impian yang menghasilkan tindakan kearah masa depan yang lebih baik, merupakan tindakan yang telah matang dan dewasa. Sedangkan hama pohon ada obat atau penangkalnya, maka pilihlah dengan cermat dan teliti obat penangkalnya yang mana sahabatku bisa ibaratkan suatu rintangan bisa kita atasi berdasarkan petunjuk dan nasehat dari orang-orang yang telah berhasil.

Coba kita perhatikan pohon bonsai. Pada dasarnya benihnya adalah benih yang baik. Tetapi akarnya dibatasi ruang tumbuhnya, dan batang serta tunasnya dikebiri dan di potong sebelum tumbuh besar. Apakah pohon bonsai itu akan berbuah ? kalaupun berbuah, niscaya buahnya hanya akan cukup satu kali petik saja. Terkadang mata kita indah melihatnya, tetapi tidak bisa memberikan buah dan yang pasti tidak bisa memberikan benihnya agar bisa berkembang biak. Bonsai hanya bisa menjadi pajangan dan hiasan belaka, tidak lebih.

Wireline Stem or Sinker bar is used as the weight to run a wireline string (toolstring) down the well and provides the weight required during jarring operations against well pressure and stuffing box friction.

Formula ( a rule of thumb ) to determine the weight of a solid steel stem is:

O.D² x 8/3 = weight (lbs/ft)

The impact force increased by increasing the stem weight that it is delivered by the jars. Do not overweight the toolstrings, as excessive mass dampens the feel and premature shearing of the pins can occur.

Never grip on the fishing neck or this will damage the sharp edge. Should be used and provided flat for wrenches.

Do not lubricate the toolstring threads- they will unscrew down hole during extended jarring. All connection should be clean and dry.

The standar lengths of stem are 2 feet, 3 feet, and 5 feet.

Nominal O.D of stems are ¾ inches, 1 inches, 1-1/4 inches, 1-1/2 inches, 1-7/8 inches, 2-1/8 inches, 2-1/2 inches.

There are 3 types of stem: solid stem, roller stem, lead filled stem.

The Roller Stem is a valuable, sometimes essential, addition to toolstring for deviated wells to reduce the frictional losses against the tubing wall.

The Lead filled Stem provides massive weight for the same diameter and length. It has a regular steel pin and box, and a tubular steel outer barrel. Inside of stem is filled with lead to provide maximum density.

Filled stem is used primarily to run flowing pressure surveys to obtain maximum weight and minimum cross-sectional area. It is protect against floating or being blown up the hole by pressure surges.

Other high density heavy weight stems which are available include: tungsten, uranium, mallory filled (mercury alloy).

Do not use Lead Filled Stem for jarring as the lead will tend to creep downwards and split the outer barrel.

There are many types of rope socket in most common use: Knot type, teardrop type and braided type. The rope socket is required to make connection between wireline and toolstring. The basic toolstring components are rope socket, knuckle joint, stem, mechanical jars, etc.
The teardrop rope socket (also called a ‘no-knot’ or ‘wedge’ type) is designed for 0.092”, 0.105”, 0.108”, 0.125” and is designed O.D for 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 1-7/8”, 2-1/8”, 2-1/2”.
The standard body of teardrop rope socket has an internal taper to accept the thimble. However a thimble eye is availaible to convert the older style of rope socket.

The end of the wire is bent to fit the curve at the bottom of the teardrop, with the short side slightly shorter than the side of the thimble.
The groove in the thimble of this socket is not deep enough to accommodate the total thickness of the wireline. As the security of the wirelne depends upon its being pinched between the thimble and it body. Care must be taken to ensure the correct size of socket is selected for the wireline in use.
As the internal components of the teardrop rope socket do not permit the wire to rotate, it is essential to include a swivel immediately below the rope socket.
Do not subtitute a knukle joint in place of a swivel. A swivel has 11/2° to 5° of lateral movement, where a knuckle joint is not designed to rotate under load and has 15° of lateral movement. In the event of it being necessary to fish the rope socket, a knuckle joint will allow it to lay over against the side of the tubing wall at an angle which may make latching difficult / impossible.

The Blind Box is used when heavy downward jarring is required to dislodge a fish, or pushes something down the hole. It is flat on bottom and hardened to reduce wear and damage.

It is available in a range “1.57 inch O.D – 5.384 inch O.D” of sizes to suit the application.

As a ‘Cutter Bar’, it is made up below a piece of stem and rope socket then dropped in the well to cut wire downhole.

The purpose of the Cutter Bar is to cut the wire at the top of the rope socket of a toolstring which cannot be retrieved.

Stem : select the length to suit well conditions. Heavy oil will require a long length of stem. Extreme caution must be taken in gas wells as very short lengths of stem (or just the rope socket and blind box) will travel very quickly.

Blind Box : size (OD) to suit ID of tubing and OD of rope socket.
- Minimum size determined by distance from tubing wall to completely cover the wire diameter.
- Maximum size determined by fluid bypass round the Blind box and by the nipple ID’s.

The worst possible case should be assumed with the toolstring lying against one wall of the tubing.

Blind box diameter must be large enough to prevent the cutter bar from passing down the side of the toolstring.

There are 2 hydraulic types of weriline unit :
1. Open loop
2. Close loop
The Winch unit will be powered by the power-pack on separate skid. Hydraulic power is supplied by connecting the power-pack to the wireline unit using hydraulic hose and quick coupling union.
Hydraulic oil passed from the reservoir tank through a suction strainer mounted inside the tank, to the hydraulic pump which driven by diesel engine. On leaving the pump under pressure, the oil passes through a tee connection which exposes the pressure to the pressure control relief valve. The valve is set to open at 2,400 psig. The minimum pressure signal for this valve can be overridden by the pilot relief valve to adjust the maximum system pressure to any valve less than 2,400 psig. The operating pressure of the system can be read on the pressure gauge. From the pressure relief valve the oil proceeds to the 4-way valve directional controls the directional control valve and then to the motor. The 4-way valve controls direction of rotation of the drum. When the handle is pulled toward the operator, the drum rotates toward him, when the handle is pushed away from the operator, the drum rotates away from him. When the valve is in the neutral position, oil flow directly to return line.
Hydraulic oil proceeds to the cooler, hydraulic filters and back to the reservoir tank.

What is Wireline ?

Weriline used in oilfield terminology means that a wire of some size, composition and length is being used to perform some type of services within the well bore. The basic use of wireline is manipulate wireline tools such as tubing gauging and flow control devices.

The function of wireline unit is an integral part of the workover and completions industry. Wireline operations provide an economical means of regulating and controling well fluid flow and clearing the tubing flow path of obstructions such as sand, scale, and paraffin.

Wireline is used for :

1. Depth measurements.

2. Temperature and pressure surveys (either static or flowing).

3. Modification or regulation of the flow rate.

4. Stopping or deviating the production.

5. Separating different layers of formation.

6. Opening and closing circulating ports.

7. Tubing calibration.

8. Removal of paraffin and cleaning of tubing in general.

9. Bottom hole sampling.

10. Tubing perforation.

Wireline fishing is a wireline job to removal of wireline tools that has been lost in the tubing while performing a wireline operation. It is usually using special tools that are Cuttter Bar, Side Wall Cutter, Kinley Snipper, Go Devil, Wireline Finder, and Impression Block.

Wireline may be reffered to by a number of names. Solid single strand line may be decribed are Slickline, Pione Wire, Solid line, Wireline, measuring Line. Multi strand wirelines are usaully described as braided line (3/16” most common).

As well depths have increased over the years since the first measuring lines were brought into use accompanied by increased working loads, it has become necessary to develop wireline having a high strength and weight ratio.
